Shrimp Pasta in Creamy Sauce

This is such an easy dish to make and you'll be surprise at how gourmet it looks and taste. With the hint of lemon juice really brighten up the flavor of this dish without feeling too heavy after eating it.

Ingredients :

Pasta of your choice - 2 serving
1/2 pound of shrimp - peeled and deveined
2 plum tomatoes - roughly chopped
zest and juice of 1 lemon
2 cloves of garlic - chopped
3/4 cup of heavy cream
Salt and pepper to taste
Some pepper flakes - optional
Some chopped parsley for garnish

1) Cook pasta according to the package instructions, drain and set aside.
2) Heat up some olive oil and saute garlic until lightly brown.
3) Add in the tomatoes, shrimp, lemon zest and juice. Simmer until shrimp are cooked and sauce is fragrant.
4) Add in cream and continue to cook for a minute. Add, pepper flakes, salt and pepper and then toss in the pasta.
5) Dish out and garnish with some chopped parsley and tomatoes.

Note : I add in some can clams too since I had some leftover in my fridge.

Jun,just replace the heavy cream with mushroom soup. Make sure you tambah air and check sesoning first before you tambah garam. Mushroom soup can be salty. I like to used mushroom soup for my cooking sometimes :) :)

Rita, is a quick and easy dish for two person :)

Gert, heavy cream tu apa ya? Kat sini mana nak cari? Selalu kalau resipi mat salleh ni ada cream. I selalu substitute with susu, in the end tak boleh makan sebab mual rasa susu.

I have also tried pasta with mushroom soup sedap jugak. my friend punya resipi.. add water, sayur and tomate puree je with thyme and oregano leaves..lepas tu sprinkle cheese on top.. my kids love it so much.

Happy cooking gert..

Ha ha, apa tu 'heavy cream'?? I always use those ready-made sauce for the pasta too but will try this recipe once I have the 'cream berat'.

Ummi, heavy cream tu whipping cream jugak. Kat supermarket Malaysia you can find it at where they put the butter and cheese. If I am not mistaken the brand is Anchor.

Beaclover, sometime is easier just to used the one from the jar. On my lazy day I will do the same :)

BBO, you can have my pasta and I will have your nasi lemak :)

Choy, you can get the heavy cream from the supermarket. Look at where they put the milk :) :)

I love pasta to death! But now I'm on a diet, and I can't touch carbo. How dreadful is this feeling, especially after looking at this sinfully delicious pasta! I feel like having some too!

Gert ... I cooked this last evening using linguine. It was heavenly! The lemony creamy taste is really unique. Thanks for sharing the recipe. I will recommend it at my blog later. :)

Hi, I'm Siaw Wei. Has been following your blog for sometimes. What a great cook you are! I've a question here, what is heavy cream? Where can I get it in M'sia?

Siaw Wei, you can get the heavy cream from the supermarket. Just go to the section where they put the cheese and yogurt. If I am not mistaken the breand is Anchor.
