MyBuddies Christmas Gathering

We members of MyB from Delaware and PA had a gathering at Saw Choo and David's house over the weekend. It was good getting to know our fellow Malaysian here in US and also all the yummy food. Carlos and I had a wonderful time and I was surprised that Carlos 'click' so well with our Malaysian friends even though meeting some of them for the very first time. Thank you Saw Choo for hosting the gathering and Ray for organazing it. Hope to see everyone again soon.

Our Christmas 2006

We had a very simple Christmas this year. Not much cooking for me as we are still trying to get over our Thanksgiving meal. So I just made some spring rolls and empanadas which Carlos likes a lot. I baked 2 fruitcakes two weeks ago and this time it turn out pretty well. Cut one today and the other one we are going to have it for Chinese New Year.

Cookies for Christmas

Jingle bells, Jingle bells.... Christmas is here. This is the time when I'm busy with my cookies baking. Lucky this year, Diana's here to help me. We baked Lemon Slices, Fruitcake bars, Pinwheels & Checkerboards, Chocolate Chips, Peanut Butter Almond, Pineapple tarts and last but not least, Thumbprint Cookies. ;) It took us 1 and a half days to finish baking and packing everything. Phew~! It's hard work, but lovin' every minute.
*Compliments of photography by my niece, Diana*

Thanksgiving

This is our thanksgiving spread. My 5th thanksgiving here in the States but Diana's first. Both she and hubby wanted the whole turkey so now I am left with so much of leftovers in the freezer. 6 hours.. That's how long I took to prepare the meal. Without any body's help, mind you...My husband loves the turkey and all the trimmings..

As Americans would know, the day after Thanksgiving is BLACK FRIDAY!!! a.k.a SHOPPING/CRAZY DAY~!!! We first headed to Target at 6am and by that time, it was packed with people. Next, we head to Kohl's but we got out of there real quick after seeing the cashier line going round the store. Finally, (our most anticipated) shopping destination ;) At LANCASTER FACTORY OUTLETS. Discounts everywhere!!! Just look at what we bought.

Now, we look forward for BOXING DAY shopping, after Christmas day~!!

My first time ever Blogging

Welcome to my blog. This is my first time trying my hand in blogging. My niece Diana set this blog up for me while Carlos and I were visiting relatives in Argentina. I am not good with words so I am trying so hard to think of something interesting to write about. But, of course, it's Sunday morning = the most lazy day of the week. ;) So, I will try to write something to introduce myself to anyone who stumble to my blog.

I'm previously from California, a place which I sooo love but my husband and I had to move to Pennsylvania due to his job reasons. Life here isn't as interesting as living in California and I'm still adjusting to life here especially the bitter winter. I've found a few good friends here in PA. This blog is mainly for my family back in Malaysia to keep them update on my life here in the US and since I love cooking and baking so you will see plenty of that in this blog.
