My sister Elizabeth came on the 15th Feb. to celebrate CNY here with us. My two sisters visited us yearly but this year Elizabeth came alone and Angela will be here only end of April. Winter weather is really cold this time of the year and she missed the snow by a day. But lucky for her we had another snowy day last Sunday and I put her to work shovelling the snow ;) We didn't do much except went out for some shopping. We will be going to New York on Saturday and will be there for 3 days.
The snow really came down fast and furious

Gong Xi Fatt Chai
To my family & friends,
Wishing all of you a Happy & Prosperous New Year. May the year of golden pig brings you lots of happiness, wealth, peace and love.
I've been away from Malaysia for so many years and I can't even remember when was the last time I celebrate CNY at home. Carlos and I will normally cook something simple for our reunion dinner because is just the two of us. But this year my sister Elizabeth and my niece Diana is here with us so I cooked a bit more. We invited our neighbor Nancy to have dinner with us.

White Valentine's
Winter came pretty late for us here in PA. This is our first snow storm of the season. Been snowing and raining since yesterday and still going strong. Tried shovelling some snow this morning but is not a good idea because in a matter of minutes the ground fill up with snow again. Carlos can't go to work today because they didn't plow the street here and his car can't even get out of the driveway. So we are trap in for the day and is not very romantic isn't it spending Valentine's Day shovelling the snow ;)
Look at the snow on top of our cars
The neighborhood cover with white snow
See who is trying to walk on the snow ;)
Anyway, I roasted Cornish game hen with some roasted potatoes & snow peas for our dinner and tiramisu for dessert.
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVERYONE !!!

Butter Prawns
I am giving this dish a trail run because I am planning to cook it for our Chinese New Year reunion dinner. Found the recipe in Kuali.com and it used coconut and not egg yolk. I think the ingredient that make this dish a success is the curry leaves. I am lucky to be able to get it from the Indian store here.
Ingredients
1 Ib of large prawns
2 tbsp of corn flour
2 tbsp of butter
5 chili padi (chopped)
2 springs of curry leaves (leaves only)
3 cloves of garlic (chopped finely)
2 shallots (chopped finely)
5 tablespoon of grated coconut (dry fried until golden brown) - can replace coconut with oats
1 tbsp of sugar
a few dash of soy sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
1) Leave prawn head and shells on but cut of the eyes and legs. Remove the veins too.
2) Pat dry and season with salt and pepper. Coat with 2 tbsp of cornflour.
3) Heat some oil in wok and pan fry until it turn red. You can deep fry it too. Drain and set aside
4) Melt butter and add in shallots, garlic, chili padi and curry leaves. Stir fry for 2 min or until fragrant.
5) Add in prawns, coconut, sugar, salt and pepper and a few dash of soy sauce.
6) Cook and keep stirring for 2 minutes.
7) Dish out on serving plate and serve with warm rice.
