Crab Legs in Black Pepper Sauce

Crabs legs was on sale at one of the supermarket here and I bought some of it. I don't really like eat it just like that so I cooked it in some black pepper sauce.

Ingredients :

4 crab legs - cut to pieces
3 cloves of garlic - finely chopped
1" of ginger - finely chopped
3 spring onions - cut into 1"
1 red chili - chopped

Sauce :

1 tbsp of oyster sauce
1 tbsp of chili sauce
1 tsp of black soy sauce
1/2 cup of water
1 tsp of sugar
1 tbsp of finely ground black pepper
salt and pepper to taste

1) Combined all the sauce ingredients and set aside.
2) Heat up frying pan with some oil and saute garlic, ginger and red chili until soft and fragrant.
3) Add in crab legs and stir-fry for a minute.
4) Add in sauce and cook until sauce thicken and completely dry.
5) Add in spring onions and stir fry for a few second and dish out.
6) Serve with warm rice.

Hmmmm yummmy!!!.I love any fresh crab but never try Alaskan crab leg.I don't dare to try to buy crab leg frozen in supermarket,afraid the meat is mushy.I tried cook frozen blue crab once,the meat turn up,mushy and watery,have to throw away.How it's crab leg taste?.I saw supermarket here have crab leg on sale too.oh!! now you make me wanna to eat crab!!

Wah sedap Gert.
I like it steamed with Old Bay seasoning.... My hubby style but he doesn't like crab leg... He prefers the male blue crab... Isinya manis...

Beachlover, the crab legs is really fresh and the meat is not mushy at all. I bought it from Acme supermarket for $6.99 a pound.

Cat, I don't like it boil or steam. Still like it our Malaysian style :) :) I like the blue crab too but since it on sale I just bought it :)

I never thought we could only cook crab legs for a dish.What a wonderful idea.beachlover you are right frozen seafood is not as good as fresh.

I love crabs but I can't bring myself to kill a live crab.
So we usually end up at a restaurant for crabs.

Gert ... the crabs we get here are pre-cooked. Will they come out well in this recipe??

Rita, the crab legs I used is already pre-cooked and it turn our alright. Just as long you don't cook it too long.

true Gert, Rita, just make the desire sauce and then stir them up just like you stir up your salad! just make the sauce coat the crabs.

Gert, went to asian store yday but the crabs were pretty pricey. it was like 5+/lb and u knolah 1 crab is like 2lb+. gotta wait until it goes on sale. ;)

PJ, you can buy those flower crab and they are not so expensive. I think is around $7.99 a dozen. If you buy those besar one memang expensive. Like you said 1 crab dah 2 Ib :) :)
