Bloggers Meet Up in Kuala Lumpur and MamaYu Nasi Kukus

I’ve been back for a week and only now I managed to sit down and do something on my laptop. I’ve been very busy running errands, stocking up the fridge etc. Thank God my husband got the house cleaning done and I don’t have to do much. I am also trying to get over the jet lag. Feeling very sleepy around 2 pm everyday and end up taking a couple of hours nap most of the days. Hopefully I am able to get over it soon.

Anyway, while I was in KL I managed to meet up with a few bloggers. The first meeting was at Madam Kwan with Elin , Cheah and Sonia . Thanks you Elin and Cheah for coming all the way from Ipoh to meet me and Sonia all the way from Klang. And thanks for all the lovely gifts. It was great catching up with all of you. Hope to see you again soon. Sonia left soon after to pick up her son from school. Do stay tune for my next posting on my 2nd meet up with another group of bloggers.

We adjourned to the Oasis Food Court at the 2nd floor. I received an email from one of the owners Andy Lee to check his food kiosk MamaYu’s Nasi Kukus. Mamayu was born into a family of cooks from Tanah Merah Kelantan. At a very young age, like those born before her, Mamayu has shown passion for cooking, often following her mother to their food stall to learn the trade. After years of cooking the guidance from her mother, she has managed to master the skill of cooking authentic Kelantanese cuisine such as MamaYu’s very well received Kuah Kerutuk and Gulai Kawah. The kiosk serves up Nasi Kukus as well as Nasi Lemak.

I like the rice of the Nasi Kukus as it is not too sticky. It comes with fried chicken, vegetables, prawn crackers and serve with 2 types of gulai. I like the kuah kerutup as it very fragrant and thick. It is price at RM8.90 a set.

As for the Nasi Lemak it comes with fried chicken, sambal and other condiments. I love the Ayam Goreng Rempah. It was crispy on the outside yet moist and tender on the inside and full of rempah flavors. It is price at RM8.90 a set

Now you can get your Nasi Kukus at:

MamaYu 1st kiosk:
Ming Tien Restaurant Jalan Pjs 11/28a, Bandar Sunway.

MamaYu 2nd kiosk:
Restaurant Nam Yiang Jalan Pjs 7/22, Bandar Sunway.

MamaYu 3rd kiosk:
Mid Valley Oasis Food court, lot no.10
