Roasted Honey Chicken Wings

Chicken wings are perhaps the most popular of all chicken appetizers. Don’t we all love just love it? Here is something you can whip it up in your own kitchen in no time. They are roasted in the oven at a high heat to achieve even browning and a crispy skin.

Ingredients :

12 pieces of chicken wings
2 cloves of garlic - chopped
1 tsp of chili powder
1/2 tsp of salt
3 tbsp of soy sauce
1/2 tsp of pepper
1 tsp of lemon zest
3 tbsp of honey
1. Clean chicken wings to make sure there are no stray feathers. Cut wings into portions through the joints, discarding wingtips (I left it whole as I like the wingtips).
2. Combine all the rest of the ingredients in a bowl. Add wings and coat in mixture. Cover and refrigerate for 2-3 hours or overnight, stirring occasionally.
3. Preheat oven to 400 degree F. Cover a baking dish with aluminium foil. Spread wings over the base, brush liberally with marinade. Roast for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Turn the wings half way through the baking. Serve warm or at room temperature.

I love chicken wings! I usually deep fry them because I don't have an oven. But I think roasting them is a healthier way...will try it out when I get an oven. :)

Listen up. There is only ONE recipe for chicken wings. That is the AMERICAN recipe from the Anchor Bar.

All the rest of recipes, like yours, are just wannabe copycat BS.

I am the SENIOR ADVISER for SeriousEats website, and we get REALLY sick having to read posts such as this.

You need to get a REAL job, because you are never going to cut it as a "blogger."

Angie, thank you.

Pinky, maybe its time for you to get an oven :)

VG, I like roasting it in the oven as I don't have to stand at the Barbie all the time :)

Jenny, LCOM, thank you.

Debbie, Lisa, thank you.

I love thess chicken wings with honey! Once I had no lemon I used lime instead: even more delicious, if possible!

sounds like a great recipe and an alternative to the "traditional" deep fried with bleu cheese.

note to chiffonade: i don't think anyone in the universe can claim sole propietorship to any recipe...especially a "standard" like chicken wings!!!

one suggestion, try using the new reynolds NON-STICK aluminum foil...that way, the good crispy skin isn't left on the foil!

Christelle said...

I use a teflon mat at the bottom, nothing sticks to it! I can't do without these anymore. They are easy to clean as well.
Humm, yummy!

Christelle said...

And as chiffonnade is concerned, if he/she can only stick to one recipe, either she can't cook or she doesn't like food.

I really don't like it when my favorite blog is attacked :(

Your chicken looks positively glazed and ready to be devoured :)))
I love seeing different recipes because when you make your own, you adapt it to your own taste by taking bits of ideas here and there to make your own perfect dish!! Food is made to be messed with!!

ICook4Fun said...

Food for tots, it goes well with beer too :)

BBO, ha ha..

Zue, the next time you balik Malaysia try out the chicken wings at Jalan Alor. They are the best!

Marinav, the lemon zest in this dish give a nice aroma to it :)

Dav, thanks for the tips and support. Will get a roll of the non-stick foil. Actually Chiffonade is a troll that leave nasty comment to blogs.

Christelle, I didn't use the teflon mat as I thought it might not give a golden finish to the wings :) As for that crazy Chiffonade he is a troll. By the way a lot of blogs and forums ban him from posting comments :)

Trollers are typically insecure individuals who derive a sense of pleasure and control from hurting others.

Just saying.

Good chicken btw :)

Chiffonade stop being a Troll, trolls have no life because they're always Jealous, annd try to hurt other people just because you can't make one yourself.
