Chicken Teriyaki

The pictures of this dish have been sitting in my file for a long time and it is time to post it out. I made this chicken dish for the AFF – Japan event but I just can’t find the time to post it during that time because of work commitment. This is a simple recipe yet very satisfying. I cooked this in a skillet instead of grilling it but you can always do so.

Panettone Apple Bread Pudding

Carlos is not a fan of bread pudding that is why I hardly make any but since I have some leftover homemade Panettone from Christmas so I thought he might like it if I use it in the bread pudding. True enough, he loves it a lot and he finishes most of it. There are many variation of bread pudding out there. Some uses white bread, croissant, donuts, baguette or brioche. Panettone is similar to brioche but with raisings, candied orange and lemon peel in it so it is great to use it in bread pudding. I added extra diced apple in it but you can always omit it.

Super Moist Steamed Chocolate Cake

My friend Nor posted a picture of this chocolate cake on FB and it look so moist and chocolaty and I just have to get her to share the recipe with us. I made this cake right away and it was so good. I shared this cake with a few friends and the just raved about it. Some even wanted to place order on it from me and might just take up on that. By the way this cake is steam and not bakes so you don’t need an oven to make a proper cake. Please don't mind the ugly frosting as I suck at doing it :(  By the way Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Why not make one for your love ones.

Braised Beef Short Ribs

With the cold winter weather I like making soup or stew for our dinner. I found some very nice beef short ribs at the supermarket the other day and decided to make some stew with some leftover red wine. I love cooking with wine. You can get some real cheap wine online from Jims Cellars which is great for drinking and also for cooking. I love dishes like this as it is hearty and full of flavor. The short ribs are cooked in an aromatic broth for a good two and a half hours. By the time it’s done the meat literally falls off the bone. I added some carrots chunks and potatoes to it as I am too lazy to cook any other dish to go with it. There were some leftovers and it taste even better the second day.
