Today the 15th day of the 8th month according to Chinese Lunar Calendar and Chinese from all over the world celebrates the Mid Autumn Festival. This festival originated from farmers, back more than 3,000 years ago celebrating the end of their summer harvest and it seems on this date, the summer moon is at its roundest, fullest and brightest. Traditional foods for this celebration are of course, the mooncakes. For more information about the festival please refer here .
Happy Mid-Autumn Festival everyone!!

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival, Gert!
Nice mooncakes :-)
Gert,
Believe it or not,I have never liked mooncake. If anybody sorok the mooncake from me and tak kasi me makan,I pun tak merajuk.I will only eat the cheap mooncake that comes in 1 gulung and the inti the black colour ones with kuaci inside. Not sure if there's any selling nowadays. If the mooncake got the yolk inside,I'll only eat the yolk and throw away the rest.Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to you and family.
Thank you ladies for all your kind wishes.
Shereen, I too like the old fashion mooncakes. My mom used to buy them from the kampong sundry shop. But when come to egg yolk I am totally the opposite. I will corek the egg yolk out and egg only the mooncake. I find it weird to mix the salted yolk with sweet filling ha ha..Have a good trip home yea. Talk to you when you come back.
sorry I am late, wish you belated mid autumn festival!
